Sunsets, Green Flashes, White Sandy Beaches, Fresh Breezes, Moonlight

Our lives have been full of magic moments since we moved to Mexico. Gorgeous sunsets, green flashes, white sandy beaches, fresh breezes, moonlit nights walking on the sand, fresh fruits and vegetables and warm friendships, these are a few of my favorite things. My husband says, "I'm never going back to the States to live. Never". Those are my sentiments, exactly.

Our house, in typical Mexican style, is built around a tiled courtyard that offers outdoor privacy within its gated doors. The courtyard, with its mature olive tree as a central focal point, is an essential part of our living space. Each room opens to it, so it serves as an extension of the house. It's the center of activity. When we're not sweeping, watering plants, and cutting roses, we're basking in the sun or visiting with our neighbors under the canopy of the olive tree. While I'm working in my office, the door is always open to the courtyard, allowing the cool ocean breeze to freshen the room. Richard and I appreciate the weather that allows us to live outside. We lived in Oregon before moving here, so our joy with the climate in Northern Baja, Mexico is warranted and, I should add well-earned.
